Al Stewart and Peter White: The Return of the Cat

Peter White and folk-rock singer Al Stewart reunite at Royal Albert Hall on October 15, 2013 for a special evening with a once-in-a-lifetime performance of Stewart’s classic Year of the Cat album in it’s entirety. White was a longtime member of Stewart’s band and remembers playing on this iconic recording: “It was my first time in a recording studio and I was blown away that it was Abbey Road Studios, home of the Beatles and the Pink Floyd!”.

The 1976 multi-million selling album Year of the Cat album, produced by Alan Parsons, was Al Stewart’s largest hit, peaking at #5 in the US and #38 in the UK.

Al Stewart will perform with a full band, Peter White serving as musical director. The show will open with Al along with various members of the band playing acoustic versions from his musical back pages. After a short intermission the band will return to perform the entire Year of the Cat album in sequence.

Songs from Year of the Cat:
Lord Grenville | On The Border | Midas Shadow | Sand In Your Shoes | If It Doesn’t Come Naturally Leave It | Flying Sorcery | Broadway Hotel | One Stage Before | Year of the Cat

Peter, I heard the news today. Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall. Wish I was there. Break a Leg.

Thanks Martin! What a thrill to play again with many of the guys on the original YOTC recording. Unfortunately no plans to release a video or recording of it.
